Although the economy is slow to recover (and December/January went into quiet mode as staff took leave) the past few weeks at Profiler Recruitment has been busy as it has been for many candidates.
Right at the moment we are seeing new roles created in the HR space to support busy HR Directors and Managers. These roles are to help to start or complete projects that just need to be done and are being briefed to us as contract with the view to permanent. Clients are confident in some instances that the roles will become permanent – so an open mind and flexibility will get your foot in the door. Generalist skills, current award experience and great administration skills seem to be the flavour. Senior roles are shifting as organisations promote from within in many instances. We have seen in recent times as senior staff may leave for various reasons their employer will look at splitting the job role across the direct reports creating new opportunities.
IT has seen a steady increase for web developers, programmers and cloud specialists. We are seeing the increase in marketing and communication roles – this may be in response to recent mergers/acquisitions so communication to stakeholders is high on the agenda.
Signs the job market is on the increase – we are pleased to hear that many of our candidates are juggling up to four opportunities. Sure competition is tough during the process but getting a new role is a numbers game.
